Scientific Name: Phylloscopus sibilatrix

Appearance: Larger and more robust than chiffchaff and willow warbler, and has an overall brighter appearance than both. Head and upperparts bright green. Long, wide yellow stripe over eye and dark line through eye. Chin, throat and upper breast yellowish-green. Underparts silky white. Brown flight feathers contrastingly edged pale yellowish. Sexes alike.

Song: High ticking, accelerating and descending into a vibrant trill, ti-ti-ti-ti-ti-tik-ik-ik-ikirrrrrrrrrrr.

When heard: Summer migrant. Males sing upon arrival from mid- to late-April, through to the end of nesting around the end of July.
