Here, we provide some basic information regarding commonly observed species (plus some others about which we have had queries).

Chamois, alpine

Scientific name: Rupicapra rupicapra

Appearance: Small size, short and straight horns, brown or grey coat with white markings on the sides of the head and rump, and black stripes below the eyes and along the back .
